NORTH MAIN STREET BRIDGE RENOVATION PROJECT
BRIDGE SPANDREL WALL STONE VENEER SAMPLES
The Cuyahoga County Department of Public Works is in the process of designing the renovations to the North Main Street Bridge, with an anticipated start of construction in the spring of 2023.
The County is proposing actual sandstone veneer surfaces for the vertical spandrel walls of both sides of the bridge. Three (3) stone samples currently available from a local quarry have been provided to the Village. The actual stones used on the project will depend on availability at the time of construction, but are expected to be similar in appearance. These samples are not indicative of the actual sizes that will be used on the project, but rather only samples of the material being proposed. The height of the actual stone courses could vary, up to 10-1/2” tall, and the sizes of the stones will be similar to the stones comprising the existing bridge.
The stone samples are on public display in front of the Chagrin Falls Police Department, 21 West Washington Street, Chagrin Falls from Wednesday, November 17 through Wednesday, December 1.
STONE COLOR POSSIBILITIES:
Sample #1 – Tan stone, generally uniform color.
Sample #2 – Tan stone, with vanes of contrasting color.
Sample #3 – Grey stone, generally uniform color.
Sample #4 – A blend of some or all three stone types. This is most reflective of the existing color and pattern on the bridge.
STONE SURFACE CUT POSSIBILITIES:
Cut #1 – Flat surface. See sample #1.
Cut #2 – Beveled surface. See samples #2 and #3.
