• Mentor Application

Thank you for your interest in being a mentor with Airdrie Entrepreneur Common (AEC). We have two programs that assist entrepreneurs in different stages of business.

SMARTstart is an seven month cohort program that combines training and mentorship.  SMARTstart is for entrepreneurs that have an idea or are in the first three years of business.  Mentoring is done on a one-to-one basis.

AdvanceSMART is for entrepreneurs who are in a high growth phase of their business. AdvanceSMART matches a business with a team of three to four mentors utilizing a team mentoring approach. Businesses may remain in the program for up to 15 months.

Please review the information on our website at airdriecommon.ca to learn about our programs and mentoring opportunities.

We accept mentor applications on an ongoing basis.

  • AdvanceSMART Mentor Roles

AdvanceSMART has two types of mentoring roles:

    1. Part of a Mentor Team - work with 2 to 3 other mentors, commit to monthly team mentoring sessions of 90 minutes in length.

    2. Mentor Specialist - for those who have a specialized skillset (ex: banker, lawyer) where it makes more sense to support the entrepreneur in an ad hoc format. This role also works well for those who would like to participate in the program but cannot commit to a standing monthly meeting with a team.
