• Intergenerational Trauma and the Holocaust: Navigating Trauma Triggers in the Modern Day with Dr. Melissa Wasserman

Join Hillel Ontario and the Israel and Golda Koschitzky Centre for Jewish Studies at York University as we welcome Dr. Melissa Wasserman. Dr. Wasserman is a clinical psychologist with a specialty in traumatic stress, particularly how trauma-related challenges impact interpersonal relationships. Dr. Wasserman completed her dissertation at Pepperdine University on second and third-generation survivors. Dr. Wasserman will be discussing the impact of intergenerational trauma on the descendants of Holocaust survivors. We will consider how we deal with trauma triggers and reminders in the modern-day, and how we manage the retraumatization of these experiences, with our history of oppression.
