Greetings from the Calling 21 Leadership Team!
As the Calling 21 Design Team prepares for Summer 2022, we are delighted that you are considering hosting a Calling 21 Intern. We covenant with one another--the Calling 21 Leadership Team, host churches and interns--to enter a process of discernment and call in matching interns with host churches.
For host churches new (and returning) host churches: December 1, 2021.
Funding A Calling 21 Intern
The cost to host churches is $3,500, and we ask for a deposit of $1750 by January 15, with the second payment of $1750 by May 15. Once we have the total pool of interns and have interviewed them, we announce the matches. Any church not paired with an intern will be refunded.
Understanding Key Roles for Host Churches
As you contemplate this opportunity we entreat host churches to be communities of grace, compassion, justice, and love of nurturing call. We pray for our interns to explore call in communities that are holy, challenging, and safe.
Creating A Calling 21 Intern Support Team
We stress the importance of an Intern Support Team comprised of lay members who can answer questions and address concerns. They are expected to meet regularly with the intern to inquire about their call and their ongoing experience. A representative from this team is expected to attend the spring Host Church Training.
Discerning The Season for Your Church To Host A Calling 21 Intern
Please remember the dynamics of an itinerant system and the current denominational happenings when deciding if this is an appropriate time for your church to host an intern.
Thank you for your interest in Calling 21!
God is always calling God’s people into ministry. We are grateful you are a part of helping young people discern God’s call in their lives. We look forward to receiving your application.
