KMM DANCE RETREAT APPLICATION CODE OF CONDUCT & BEHAVIOR

Participants are expected to fully participate to the best of their ability, follow all program guidelines and behave appropriately to ensure a high-quality learning experience and ensure the safety of all participants. Positive behavior is a fundamental expectation for adults participating in this dance training. Positive behavior reflects trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship. Our primary consideration is to provide a safe, secure environment for all participants to thrive.

I understand that I may be sent home at my own expense without a refund for:

• Theft. There is Absolutely no stealing or borrowing without prior permission.
• Vandalism. I am responsible for Repair costs for damages incurred to property.
• Use of illegal drugs, over abuse of alcohol, and other such offenses are strictly prohibited. Those engaged in illegal activities will be turned over to the proper authorities.
• Disruptive Behavior such as: emotional outburst, yelling, screaming, crying, incessant complaining & dissatisfaction in anger or rage is prohibited.
• Teasing, hurting, or bullying anyone, or using language, gestures or actions that will hurt others. Disciplinary action will vary based on the degree of the offense and will be determined by the program hosts and staff in charge and may result in being dismissed from the program at your own expense.
• Inappropriate sexual behavior and behavior that violates the rights of others, particularly when the behavior is disrespectful as regards a person’s gender, race, age, sexual orientation, religion, national origin, disability, or appearance.

I am responsible for:

• Keeping track of my own belongings. Valuables such as expensive jewelry and electronic devices, should be left at home. Program hosts, staff or other participants will not be responsible for any lost or missing items.
• Carrying my own luggage. Program hosts, staff or other participants are not responsible for carrying your luggage.
• Dressing comfortably and casually - but neatly, appropriately and respectfully according to each occasion or you may be kindly asked to change your clothes.
• Observing the rules of the retreat center. Violators of poor behavior will be sent home at their own expense without a refund.

This is a culturally conscious educational space that strives to uplift and elevate the voices of marginalized communities. Through the study of dance, culture, art and history, we stand against all forms of racism and oppression. Everyone is welcome in the spirit of learning and having fun.
