  • Please submit a personal statement sharing your background, why you would like to join GibneyPRO, and your future goals. 

    You can select to submit a 1-2 page written statement OR a 2-3 minute video submission of yourself speaking your statement.

    This statement will be considered for content and motivation only, not for writing, speech, or language proficiency.

  • Audition Information

  • Applicants may select to submit a video audition OR attend in-person auditions. All applicants must select one option. 

     

    Applications for video auditions are due by March 10, 2023. There is a non-refundable application fee of $35 for video auditions. 

    Applications for in-person auditions are due by March 17, 2023. There is a non-refundable application fee of $25 for in-person auditions. 

    The inability to pay an application fee should never be a barrier to apply. If the application fee is prohibitive for you, please contact erin@gibneydance.org to request a fee waiver.

    In-person auditions will take place at Gibney 280 Broadway on Saturday, March 25 or Sunday, March 26, 2023, 10:30am - 5:30pm.

  • To audition with a video submission, please share a link to a video of yourself dancing. The video should include 3 minutes of ballet class center exercise, 3 minutes of contemporary class or repertory in your preferred vernacular, and 1-3 minutes of improvisation.

    There is a non-refundable application fee of $35 for video auditions, which can be submitted here. If the application fee is prohibitive for you, please contact erin@gibneydance.org

    Select dancers may be scheduled for interviews in March.

  • In-person auditions will take place on Saturday, March 25 or Sunday, March 26, 2023 10:30am - 5:30pm at Gibney 280. 

    Applicants will only attend one day of the audition. You can select your preferred day and we will do our best to accommodate requests. You should be prepared to stay the full 7 hours. Audition day assignments will be confirmed by March 22.


    The in-person audition will include ballet, repertory, and improvisation. All applicants will participate in the Ballet and Repertory portions of the audition. Select dancers will be invited to return for improvisation and interviews with the audition panel on the same day.


    Please note that masks are required for all individuals in the common spaces and recommended in the studios at Gibney Center. As of November 15, 2022 Gibney no longer requires proof of full vaccination for all visitors. Read more about our COVID-19 safety plan on our Plan Your Visit page.

  • Scholarship Information

  • Need-Based Scholarships: A limited number of scholarships are available based on financial need. We cannot guarantee any requested scholarship amount but will work with participants to meet their needs to the best of our ability.

    BIPOC Scholarships: We aim to cultivate an inclusive and diverse cohort. Scholarships dedicated to dancers in financial need who identify as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, Person of Color) are available.

    Please note your interest in a scholarship application below. Scholarship interest and applications will be reviewed separately from program applications, and are not shared with audition panelists.

    If accepted into GibneyPRO, you will be asked to provide tax forms/proof of income and a statement of need by April 7, 2023. Scholarship awards will be shared by April 14, 2023.

    Confirmation of participation and a nonrefundable deposit of $500 are due April 23, 2023.
