Virtual Ireland Pilgrimage January 2022
Join us for a virtual pilgrimage to Ireland beginning January 20th 2022
Starting on January 20th 2022 at 6 pm EST and for the next four weeks our pilgrimage group will "travel" to Ireland visiting sacred sites, learning about Celtic spirituality, and engaging with a local leader or community. Our main venue for these meeting will be the Haywood Duke Room. Those unable to attend in person will be able to particpate via Zoom (and will form a small group of their own when we break into small groups). All meetings will include both plenary and small group interactions. Small group time will allow pilgrims to connect with one another and with the spiritual heart of pilgrimage. An expert on ancient pilgrim routes in Ireland will present in the first meeting. A spiritual leader will show us around St. Patrick's Cathedral in Dublin. We will be led in prayer when we visit the Glendalough Monastic site. Another leader will walk with us virtually in the Aran Islands.
The days of the week and timing were deliberately chosen because these are the days and times of the evening hikes when the weather and daylight are more friendly. It also affords us the opportunity to dine together - if we choose - at a place not far from Holy Trinity!
This virtual pilgrimage offers an introduction to what our in-person pilgrims to Ireland will experience in May 2022. It will help prepare the pilgrims practically, socially, and spiritually.
Pilgrims will receive a journal to help them prepare for and record their experiences during the virtual pilgrimage
Here's a link to a video describing the in person pilgrimage which includes the sites we will be visiting virtually in January and in person in May 2022: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1GU_R1hdwoU
The fee for this virtual pilgrimage is $75.
