The following communication plan is prepared in accordance with regulation (901iv) to set out how:
- Relevant staff members are informed about the medical management and risk minimisation plans for your child;
- Parents of the child can communicate any changes to the medical management and risk minimisation plans.
Service:
- The Nominated Supervisor will ensure that all educators, volunteers and relevant staff such as the Chef and Administrator understand the medical conditions for this child by reviewing the Medical Management, Risk Minimisation and Communication Plans upon hire, quarterly and as needed for changes. Plans will be discussed regularly at team meetings.
- Plans are easily accessed by all staff in the appropriate office in the designated Junior or Senior Plans binders.
- The Administrator will audit medication on a monthly basis to confirm that it is in date and complies with Service policy. Parents will be notified of any pending expirations by email.
- The Nominated Supervisor will advise staff in a timely manner of any relevant changes reported by the parents.
- The Nominated Supervisor will contact parents when it is time to review the Plans.
- Educators will advise parents when the child requires medication that has not previously been authorised for a specific day and time.
Parents will:
- Confirm that Medical Management and Risk Minimisation Plans are kept current with accurate details to ensure that the Service has the correct information.
- Immediately notify the Nominated Supervisor in writing at oshclub@eatonshillpandc.org or through the online enrolment form if there are any changes to my child's medical condition and will also immediately provide an updated Medical Management Plan and if relevant, any new medication and Medication Authority.
- Provide an updated Medical Management Plan annually, as changes occur or when designated for review by the medical practitioner.
- Acknowledge that a copy of the Medical Conditions Policy has been provided and is available in the service.
- Advise educators upon drop off of any symptoms requiring administration of medication in the past 24 hours and the cause of the symptoms (if known).
