  • Creative Film Productions Club (CFPC)

    The Creative Film Productions Club (CFPC) allows students to explore and develop their creative and technical abilities through the creation of movies. The club explores all aspects of film production including (but not limited to), budgeting, scriptwriting (screenplay), storyboarding, casting, cinematography, lighting, acting, photography, location scouting, and directing. Students will produce film shorts of varying lengths to be viewed by club members, but which also may be entered into regional competitions. The other main club activity is film appreciation: viewing and critiquing movies to analyze both technical and creative decisions in filmmaking.

  • Financial Literacy Club

    Financial Literacy Club is dedicated to helping students understand the importance of managing money and making smart financial decisions. Throughout the year, we’ll explore financial literacy by planning and organizing a major project, our very own workshop. Depending on approvals, the workshop will either be offered to Chinguacousy students or middle school students in our community. It will happen in Spring 2026.  Along the way, members will gain hands on experience in budgeting, securing sponsorships, and event planning, while building valuable financial skills for the future.

  • Robotics Team

    The Robotic Club gives Chinguacousy secondary school students and their adult mentors the opportunity to work and create together to solve a common problem. Teams of students are challenged to design, build, and program robots and compete for awards, while they also create a team identity, raise funds, hone teamwork skills, and advance respect and appreciation for STEM within the local community.

    This new initiative will doubtlessly have a positive impact on our school community. The goal is to provide students with a platform to share their ideas and opinions while developing public speaking skills. TED Ed is essentially preparing students for the future, as social skills and public speaking skills are essential assets to have in the real world. A

    TEd-Ed is an opportunity for Chinguacousy students to enhance their communication skills while learning techniques to effectively present their ideas in the form of Ted Talks.

  • Tamil Students Association

    Chinguacousy's TSA is a club dedicated to the celebration, preservation and immersion of Tamil culture, history and arts. Chinguacousy's TSA plans to raise awareness for Tamil struggles around the world, such as in Sri Lanka, Singapore, Malaysia and India in addition to celebrating Tamil events such as Thai Pongal, Puthandu (Tamil New Year), and Diwali. The TSA also aims to foster a strong Tamil community within the school, such as through hosting screenings for Tamil movies, after school conferences with Tamil professionals such as doctors, and engineers to discuss boundaries they had to overcome to make it in their careers. Above all, the TSA is welcome to any and all persons interested in the TSA’s goals and values, regardless of ethnicity and political affiliation.

    Our focus is on mental health and well-being through baking. We will be modelling ways in which baking can be used as a tool to take your mind off of stresses from the day and re-focus on an activity that brings calmness but as well as joy and pride in making something that others will enjoy but goes to a good cause. We will be meeting twice a month on Wednesday's during lunch in our Chinguacousy food's room to plan and bake treats that will be sold to the school at large and the funds will be donated to organizations such as Sick Kids.

  • Latin Club

    In Grex Latinus (the Chinguacousy Latin Club), students explore the culture and history of the ancient Mediterranean world. This includes learning Latin, the language spoken by the Ancient Romans, which became a common tongue spoken throughout most of Europe for centuries, still learnt and understood even long after the fall of Rome. Students will also engage in leadership opportunities (as there is a club executive), and will plan events, make crafts, watch relevant media, make ancient recipes, take international exams, and whatever else they wish to do that's relevant, fun, and educational!

    This club will be open to all students and provide an opportunity to improve communication and presentation skills, build confidence and connect to others in a fun and meaningful way. Students will work towards putting on shows and/or hosting events such as improv sessions/workshops for the school community, participating in school assemblies and potentially participating in improv/theatre-based programming/competitions such as Canada Improv Games or Drama competitions in keeping with the interest of the club’s participants.
