• Coordinator Application

Coordinator responsibilities focus on developing leadership qualities important to a Christian camping ministry. We hire two coordinators: Program Coordinator (specific to Camp Magruder) and Resident Counselor Coordinator (serves each site, Camps Latgawa, Magruder, and Suttle Lake). They will work closely under the guidance of the Program Director and other directors to help to oversee and direct the summer staff. Their responsibilities will include planning spiritual practices for the summer staff, leading training sessions in orientation meetings, assisting in schedule-making, establishing relationships with guests and summer staff, and performing general office and daily tasks. These positions requires the applicant to be capable of working in a leadership role over people they potentially relate to as peers. They must have the maturity to understand the professional boundaries that come in serving in a role of this nature. To excel in this position, the applicant must have the capacity to accomplish tasks autonomously after being trained. This applicant should have a strong spiritual life, capable of guiding and mentoring others. Applicants should possess stamina and endurance, as well as a positive outlook. To complete the application for Program Coordinator, applicants must also complete a Project Assessment by emailing the Program Director. The application for either position is not considered complete until two reference forms for the applicant are returned, as well. A complete application includes an application form, a Project Assessment (for Program Coordinator), and two references forms. The applicant is responsible for sending out the reference forms and seeing that they are completed in a timely manner. Upon returning a completed application, we will contact you to set up an interview.
  • Our Mission

Camp Magruder is committed to creating sacred spaces of Christian hospitality and learning. Our staff live out the camp’s mission by embodying Christ’s love for all people no matter age, sexual orientation, gender, background, ethnicity, or culture. Throughout the summer, we serve a wide variety of campers and guests. For some summer events Camp Magruder is responsible for the program, lodging, meals, and even supervision for children and youth programs; while other events are sponsored by partnering non-profit groups who provide their own programs and leadership, and Camp Magruder serves as their host providing lodging, meals, and activities.
  • Logistics

Staff serve as a positive role-model for campers, guests, volunteers, and each other. Working at camp requires staff members to work and live in close Christian community with an entire team of people. This offers a unique opportunity to explore and grow in your personal faith, make a difference in the life of others, learn life & leadership skills, make new friends, be challenged, and enjoy a beautiful outdoor setting. Due to COVID-19, staffers can expect some safety requirements and guidelines to be followed for this job. Staff training will likely begin about May 28th, 2023, and camp will continue through Labor Day Weekend, with one week off July 23-30. These dates are meant for planning purposes only and are subject to change. Camp Magruder is offering a seasonal salary equaling to about $630 per week for an 13-week summer.

We put a lot of value in the vespers experience and have a high standard of creativity and meaning.
  • Certifications and Skills
