The Robert Snodgrass award is an annual award, presented at the time of convention for the Annual General Meeting of the Alberta Funeral Service Association. The recipient may be a person working in the funeral profession in Alberta.
- Outstanding Customer Service: This will be measured by a tangible expression of excellence. These can include media coverage; letters to the editor, from the customer; from coworkers or other community individuals. [and]
- Outstanding Contribution to AFSA: In keeping with Robert Snodgrass’s status as a builder of the association, consideration will be given to individuals who have been instrumental in the continuous work of building AFSA. Individuals will be recognized for their contribution to the funeral profession through involvement with AFSA. This contribution can be made through long standing service through committee work and/or service on the executive board; special projects that have enhanced the work of AFSA or an exemplary commitment to some tangible aspect of AFSA in general. - Outstanding Contribution to the Funeral Profession at large: Individuals may also be recognized for their contribution in the broader perspective. This perspective involves more of a public notice than the professional distinction in the previous category.
Acknowledgements in this category are intended to recognize contributions that enhance the reputation of the funeral profession as seen by the public. These can involve outstanding community service through public office, community projects or other significant accomplishments.
