LEARNER’S PERMIT PROCEDURES:
1. Applicant must be 17 years or older to obtain a learner’s permit.
2. Applicant should submit a learner’s permit form.
3. Must provide a Medical Certificate signed and stamped by a doctor that they are fit to drive.
4. Accompanying the completed form, the applicant must present:
- A photocopy accompanied by the original of either Belizean Passport, Social Security, Voter’s ID card or Permanent Residence Card.
- Two (2) passport size photographs
- A current utility bill to verify current address. If the bill is not in the applicant’s name, the person whose name the bill is in will need to provide a signed authorization and a picture ID to facilitate the process.
5. There is $40.00 Learner's Permit Application Fee which is to be paid after receiving the Information Study Sheet.
6. Kindly then coordinate with Traffic Department to place an appointment to take the written test.
7. If the Applicant passes his/her Written Driver Test, they will receive a Learner's Permit. If the Applicant fails the Written Test, he/she must re-take the test until resulting a passing mark. (70% is the passing mark)
8. Thereafter, an appointment must be made to take the Driver's Practical Test. Upon passing the Practical Test a Driver's License will be issues.
*Note, the Written Test and Driver's Practical Test are done every Wednesdays.
