  • Do you have an interest in growing, preparing/cooking, sharing & eating seasonal & local produce, encouraging food diversity and educating our community about these issues? Come join us!

We are based in Singleton in the Hunter Valley and meet monthly, as well as organising activities and sharing produce & info through the year.

We formed in 2019, and have since set up the Singleton Seed Library (in conjunction with Singleton Library), run an annual 'Citrus Rescue' to collect and redistribute fruit, organised three Singleton Edible Garden Trails, started a monthly Crop Swap at Singleton Public Library, organised local tours, held a bush tucker workshop, 3 'pruning picnics', had stalls at community events, facilitated swaps of plants and produce, and shared lots of fresh produce, info and laughs at our monthly meetings and monthly cafe catch-ups.

We have many ideas and need people to help put them into action - and we value new ideas & enthusiasm.
See all these activities & info at www.facebook.com/slowfoodsingleton

We belong to the global Slow Food movement: see the Slow Food International website. Slow Food is a grassroots organisation, founded in 1989 to prevent the disappearance of local food cultures and traditions, counteract the rise of fast life and combat people’s dwindling interest in the food they eat, where it comes from and how our food choices affect the world around us.

Slow Food "envisions a world in which all people can access and enjoy food that is good for them, good for those who grow it and good for the planet. The Slow Food approach is based on a concept of food that is defined by three interconnected principles: good, clean and fair.

    • GOOD: quality, flavorsome and healthy food
    • CLEAN: production that does not harm the environment
    • FAIR: accessible prices for consumers and fair conditions and pay for producers"

Membership of Slow Food Singleton is $20/year - we will send you details of how to make the payment when we receive your membership form.
