  • About Girl Scouts, Hornets' Nest Council and our Scholarship Process

  • We’re a hive of activity. And proud of it.

Girl Scouts, Hornets’ Nest Council has one focus. Girls. Our mission is to build girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place. We received our charter in 1935 and are now amongst the oldest and largest girl organizations in the Carolinas.

Today, we serve nearly 10,000 girls and adults in eight counties across North and South Carolina including Anson, Cabarrus, Mecklenburg, Montgomery, Rowan, Stanly, Union and York (SC). Our programs provide leadership opportunities for today’s G.I.R.L. (go-getter, innovator, risk taker, leader) ™.

Made possible by generous donors, Girl Scouts, Hornets’ Nest Council is pleased to provide scholarships to current high school seniors who are currently registered members of Girl Scouts, Hornets' Nest Council, attending college in the fall of 2023. For more information on GSHNC, our available scholarships, and the scholarship process and deadlines, please visit our website.
