• The Registered Accommodation Association of Victoria (RAAV) is an Australian public company limited by guarantee [ABN 91 133 049 500].
• RAAV’s members include a cross section of responsible rooming house owners and operators from the private sector.
• RAAV is a forum which assists meeting the needs of low income tenants seeking short and medium term accommodation.
• RAAV has developed the Rooming House “Best Practice Handbook” for Consumer Affairs Victoria as recommended in the “Rooming House Task Force Report”.

The core objective of RAAV is to raise the standards and image of the private registered accommodation sector.

• Promote rooming house “Best Practice ” to raise the standards and image of the private rooming house sector.
• Provide a forum for rooming house operators and represent the views of members and the industry to Government.
• Contribute to the Government’s policy initiatives.
• Create a respected private Rooming House sector.
• Provide a suite of services to members including:
  • Being a central reference communication base on key issues that impact on private rooming houses;
  • Provide guidelines and information on  "Best Practice" ;
  • Conduct regular forums and information sessions;
  • Participate in Government forums;
  • Access to an interactive website with links to information on legislation, VCAT, Tenancy, Building, Business systems, case studies and a Members’ Only” section;
  • Information about special rates for products and services with related businesses, e.g. power, gas, hardware;
  • Regular newsletters and press releases on key matters for private rooming houses.

RAAV welcomes membership enquiries from registered rooming houses and associated corporate organisations. Membership from registered rooming houses entitles them to vote at RAAV's Annual General Meeting and stand for RAAV's Committee.

Membership year is for the period from 1st July to 30th June. Your details will remain confidential to RAAV’s Executive Officers comprising the President, CEO, Treasurer and Membership Secretary.

Your application for membership will be processed by RAAV’s Committee ASAP and you will be advised accordingly. An invoice will be sent to you for your annual subscription which will then be due and payable immediately at that time.
