In Colombia, it is very hot and humid in the lowlands around Arauca. Temperatures are regularly in the 90s with high humidity.
In the Middle East, the weather is extremely dry, hot and dusty in the summer. In the winter it is often rainy, wet and miserably cold. There are also a lot of mosquitos.

You need to be aware that the travel and living conditions are harsh and intense. You are not guaranteed a good night of sleep regularly. You will most likely see devastation and hardship. If you are not emotionally strong, this will be hard for you.
You need to be aware that most places will not have medical services like the United States. There are no urgent care clinics. Hospital visits are reserved for life-threatening injuries.
