Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta is gathering interest from troops, leaders, and service units within the council supporting the revitalization of the historical Girl Scout Trailblazer program. We'd love to hear from you!
The Trailblazer program provides Girl Scouts in grades 8-12 an opportunity to engage deeply in high-adventure outdoor activities in a broad range of modalities, geographies, and climates. Trailblazers engage in these activities year-round on almost every trail and environment that can support them!
Trailblazers develop skills in:
Hiking and backpacking
Tent and primitive camping
Conservation service and Take Action projects
Outdoor preparedness and safety
Survivorship and high-adventure sports such as rock climbing, mountain biking, ropes courses, etc.
There are no prerequisites for joining a Trailblazer troop other than an interest and willingness to complete the requirements of the pin within the first year of being part of the program. Girls participating in these troops are encouraged to participate in the full Girl Scout program (earning badges, Product Program, Highest Awards, etc.), but through the lens of the program's focus.
We love the enthusiasm around this program, and we cannot wait to share more information. Please complete the interest form to ensure you are kept in the loop as the program develops.
