  • Covid-19 Vaccination Status & Field Placement Units

  • Applicants wishing to undertake study in the Master of Counselling or any of the Chaplaincy courses offered at Morling College will be required to complete a placement as part of their studies.

The current guidelines from Health, Aged Care, Education and Allied Health Professions in Australia regarding vaccination status do vary. However, all agencies either mandate or strongly recommend that counsellors and chaplains be vaccinated against Covid-19. Associated counselling and chaplaincy industry groups and professional associations are in support of these guidelines.

Therefore, students seeking placements as part of counselling and chaplaincy graduate courses are unlikely to be able to secure a placement in allied health settings, health settings, aged care settings, counselling agencies or educational settings if they are not vaccinated and do not have a medical contraindication for vaccination.

Therefore, the student would be unable to complete their course of study.

Enrolment in these courses by students who choose to be unvaccinated is not encouraged as the completion of their course of study would not be possible.

  • Psychometric Tests

    Required for all applicants
  • Please complete the following 2 psychometric tests as part of your application. The results are held in utmost confidentiality, and give us information regarding your levels of anxiety, stress, and depression. This is not so we can deny you admittance to the course, but rather so we can work with you for the best outcome, and suggest further support if needed.

Please answer the questions honestly; a psychometric test that has ‘perfect’ scores is often not realistic.

If you have any questions about this process, please contact us at counselling@morling.edu.au

Please upload documents below. We prefer that all photocopies of official documents (ie. Proof of Citizenship and transcripts) are certified. To create a ‘certified’ copy, make a copy of the original document, then show the copy and the original to a trustworthy other person, such as a Justice of the Peace or your School Principal, who should write on the copy these words: ‘I have viewed the original, of which this is a copy, and declare this to be a true copy of the original’ and then write his/her name and position clearly (eg. JP, Principal, Lawyer) and sign the copy. This shows the copy is a true copy of the original.
