This scholarship is funded through the Dean Johnson Memorial Fund. Dean Johnson served faithfully at Mount Pleasant Christian Church for many years. Serving as a small group leader for elementary and high school students, Dean did it all. And he did it with all that he had. Dean exemplified what it meant to live with a purpose and passion to help the next generation know and love Jesus.

In November of 2016, Dean passed away suddenly at the age of 46 while preparing to lead another small group lesson. Our ministries are determined to help Dean’s legacy live on because he embodied what it meant to make kids matter. Dean was the model volunteer and we were all better for serving alongside him.

An annual Dean Johnson Memorial Golf Outing is held to help raise funds to send students to events that Dean would have wanted them to go on. That money is now available as a scholarship to students with financial need and also families sending multiple students to events. And we want to encourage you to either apply or share with the people who need it.

The deadline is March 31. After that, our team will award scholarships to as many applicants as we can. If you have any questions about this, please feel free to contact us.
