BirthMatters is a community-based doula program serving pregnant mothers living in Spartanburg and Cherokee County with high quality care. Our trained doulas assist women during their birth journey. BirthMatters doulas provide informational, educational and non-clinical labor support throughout pregnancy, birth and postpartum.

A community-based doula is a trained peer well-versed in the community that they serve, who provides physical, emotional, and educational support in a culturally sensitive way. Doula services are provided through home/virtual encounters during pregnancy, continuous labor support at birthing site, and during postpartum period.
