What Is It And What Do I Need To Prepare?
Coffee House: This is an event we put on 2 to 3 times a year. Once in the fall and once or twice in the spring. It is an open mic style performance outside under the big oak tree. People typically sing pop songs or perform poems, etc. Whereas our other events are more theatre driven this is a chance to perform something different! Coffee House #2 - 1/27
If auditioning for Coffee House please prepare UP TO 1 minute of whatever it is you would like to perform. (I will hear the rest of your piece during the rehearsal days) Please understand that I may disapprove of this piece. HOWEVER, if you earn a spot in Coffee House, it is YOUR spot and may pick another piece to perform. Just because you are auditioning by yourself does not mean you can not use your spot in Coffee House to perform a duet or small group piece. Whatever you decide to perform after you earn your spot must be approved by Mr. Saienni.
Musical: This is the mainstage production we will put on in the spring. March 25-26 @ 7 PM and March 26 @ 2 PM. This year we will be performing:
Head Over Heels

Synopsis:
A jukebox musical featuring the songs of The Go-Go’s and based on Philip Sidney’s The Countess of Pembroke’s Arcadia, Head Over Heels is the story of what happens when the royal court of Arcadia is threatened by the mystical Oracle of Delphi with the loss of its “Beat,” the divine power that ensures the kingdom’s prosperity. King Basilius, whose own title is at stake, forces the members of the royal family and court on a journey to the woods in an attempt to escape the Oracle’s seemingly unavoidable prophecies. Through a plot containing usurped kingship, unlikely lovers, and gender-fluid disguises, Head Over Heels preaches unconditional love and acceptance of yourself and everyone you know, no matter what and uses some of the greatest pop rock hits of the late 20th century.
Characters:
BASILIUS - THIS OLD FEELING P. 168-169 M. 36-57 TRACK 14.2 Start-:46
King of Arcadia. A good ol' boy. A hothead, but not a despot. Blindly thinks Arcadia is doing great under his masculine rule, which will be sorely tested during the course of the show.
GYNECIA - THIS OLD FEELING P. 167 M. 1-23 Track 14.1 Start-:47
Queen of Arcadia. Wise, beautiful. Like any longstanding spouse, knows how to get her way with her husband when push comes to shove.
PAMELA - BEAUTIFUL P. 122 M. 113-END TRACK 2.1 2:50 +2.2
Basilius and Gynecia's older daughter. Confident and obsessed with her appearance. Known to be the most beautiful bachelorette throughout Arcadia.
PHILOCLEA - GOOD GIRL P. 149-150 M. 3-37 TRACK 6 Start-1:10
Basilius and Gynecia's younger daughter. Shy and a "good girl", she yearns to follow her heart rather than obey her father's orders.
DAMETAS - BASILIUS’ PART OF THIS OLD FEELING P. 168-169 M. 36-57 TRACK 14.2 Start-:46
The King’s viceroy; father to Mopsa.
MOPSA - VACATION P.165-166 M. 3-43 TRACK 10 Start-1:08
Handmaiden to Pamela. Warm, skeptical. Growing up without a mother has made her wise beyond her years about everyone and everything, which is why she is the (sometime) narrator to the show.
MUSIDORUS - MAD ABOUT YOU P.144-147 M. 31-97 TRACK - 5.3 Start-2:00
A young shepherd who courts after Philoclea.
PYTHIO - VISION OF NOWNESS - P.129 M. 4-28 TRACK 3.1 Start-:53
The Oracle; powerful, mysterious. Demanding. Great sense of humor--can see through everyone--they are the Oracle of Delphi, after all. Performers isn't limited to gender identity and ethnicity.
ENSEMBLE - PICK ANY SONG BUT LET MY KNOW YOU ARE GOING FOR ENSEMBLE
Unique, charismatic individuals to inhabit the kingdom of Arcadia.
