ABOUT CLUBS FORE YOUTH
The game of golf has provided millions of youth the opportunity to enhance their lives, both athletically and academically. The game is often used to teach life lessons, social skills, honesty, integrity, and work ethic. Through each game, lesson, shot, and decision, golf continues to be a leader in developing the lives of our youth.
Clubs FORE Youth is an initiative founded by the Southern California Section PGA to provide high school-aged girls (14-18) with the necessary golf equipment and resources needed to compete and experience the game’s most important characteristics. Through the game of golf, each female scholar-athlete will be exposed to a unique skill set that will broaden their career options in the future. In addition, to acquiring important life and social skills, these female scholar-athletes will build self-esteem through daily interactions with their High School Coaches and teammates and empower them to be the leaders of tomorrow.
Southern California Section PGA surveyed numerous high schools in the greater Southern California school system and the results were staggering!
- 44% Borrow or share equipment
- 70% Competed with secondhand borderline service equipment and sometimes wrong dexterity
In 2018, PGA REACH Nebraska worked with the Nebraska Schools Activities Association to conduct a study to see if this need existed in Nebraska. The results were equally staggering and, in fact, worse. A total of 72 schools participated in the survey:
- 56% of girls either do NOT own their clubs, share or borrow equipment
- 43% of the equipment used borderline unusable and dated
The need is real and it's just not in the Omaha or Lincoln Metros but across the state.
PGA REACH Nebraska – Clubs FORE Youth Program Objectives
To fully equip ALL High School Girls Golf Programs in need of resources and equipment assistance. As our research has shown, High Schools Girls Golf Programs aren’t afforded the proper resources, equipment, or training to succeed at a high level. The vast majority of High School Girls Golf Programs are using substandard equipment and PGA REACH Nebraska is committed to bridging this gap and providing these female scholar-athletes with a level playing field.
- Through industry partnerships, PGA REACH Nebraska will partner with golf club companies in providing top-of-the-line equipment, pushcarts, course access in the summer and PGA Professional Instruction.
- Provide a maximum of eight (8) golf sets per school and eight (8) pushcarts. Pushcarts have become almost essential to high school players around the world as they allow the players to push/pull their clubs on a cart as opposed to being expected to carry the whole bag of clubs and equipment on their shoulders during their round.
Clubs FORE Youth Recipient Benefits:
- Access to a “brand new” set of golf clubs (Schools will keep but scholars can use in summer)
- Brand new push carts
- PGA Professional Instruction (summer golf camp)
- Membership to Nebraska Junior Golf
- Eligible to receive Nebraska Junior Golf financial assistance to help compete in summer events.
- Access to over 50 golf courses in Nebraska through a partnership with Allied Golf Association
Clubs FORE Youth Agreement with Scholar-Athlete and High School
- Each Clubs FORE Youth recipient MUST participate on their respective high school’s golf team through their scheduled graduation date.
- IF the Clubs FORE Youth recipient is unable to participate on their respective high school team the recipient MUST return the in-kind equipment to their high school golf coach.

- Clubs FORE Youth scholar-athletes attend UNL-PGM Program to pursue a career in the golf industry!
