Waiver of Liability and Acceptance of Responsibility

In exchange for the participation in these yoga classess organized by Sidney Huang and taught by him or his substitutes and assistants and the use of the property and facilities of the host, AstaYoga, I agree to the following:
I recognize that I am undertaking the practice of Mysore-style Ashtanga Yoga and that entails forms of exercise and discipline that can be physically and mentally demanding. I recognize that there are certain inherent risks with this kind of activity and I assume full responsibility for personal injury to myself. I further release and discharge Sidney Huang, his substitutes and assistants, and the hosting facility, AstaYoga, for injury, loss, or damage arising out of my use or presence in the class or the facility whether caused by the fault of myself, Sidney Huang or his substitutes and assistants, other students, or the hosting facility.
I agree to indemnify and defend Sidney Huang and the hosting facility against all claims, causes of action, damages, judgments, costs or expenses, including attorney fees and other litigation costs, which may in any way arise from my involvement in the classes and use or presence at the hosting facility.
I agree to follow any instructions or directions given by Sidney Huang, his substitute or assistant to the best of my ability. I understand that I am expected to stop when told to stop. If there are other instructions, exercises, or postures that I am uncomfortable or uncertain about, I understand I have the first option to abstain from action by waiting and "sitting it out" or even stepping out of the class. I understand in a Mysore-style class I can seek further clarification or modification in a quiet way without disturbing other students but that in a led class I may have to wait until class. I acknowledge that it is my duty to raise concerns if I have any factors or history, medical or otherwise, that may complicate the performance of any of the proposed exercises although I am not obligated to divulge the full details. If there are medical concerns then I understand that my discussion and consultation with Sidney Huang or his assistants and substitutes pertain strictly to the practice of yoga and are not to be construed as medical advice.
I agree and acknowledge that I am under no pressure or duress to sign this Agreement (save in exchange for participation in these classes) and that I have been given a reasonable opportunity to review it before signing. I further agree and acknowledge that I am free to have my own legal counsel review this agreement before signing if I so desire. I further acknowledge that Sidney Huang has offe red to refund any fees I have paid in advance of signing to participate in classes if I choose not to sign this agreement.

I understand that I should refrain from coming to class if I believe I may be contagious with Covid-19 or other communicable disease. During and before coming to class I should be taking reasonable precautions with regard to hygiene in order to protect others.
I accept that while the yoga class organizers and instructors and the host facility are undertaking ample precautions to ensure ventilation and cleanliness and to make sure other attendees are healthy and vaccinated that there remains some substantial risk of infection with Covid-19 or other communicable diseases with group activity, indoor or not.
