• 2022 Award Nominations

  • The purpose of the 2022 Female Football Awards are to acknowledge and celebrate the achievements of individuals that are making significant contribution to women and girls' football throughout northern NSW in the last 12 months.

    Northern NSW Football invites affiliated Clubs, Members and Member Zones to nominate candidates for selection. Award Winners will be announced in Northern NSW Football Female Football Week Networking Night on Saturday 14 May 2022.

    Nominations are open for the following categories:

    ~ FFW Coach of the Year

    ~ FFW Referee of the Year

    ~ FFW Volunteer of the Year

    ~ FFW Male Champion of the Year

    ~ FFW Club of the Year

    Nominations Close: 5PM Friday 15 April 2022

  • You are invited to nominate for as many of the awards that you would like. For each award you are nominating for, you must complete all of the information required for that award nomination.

    A football profile photo is required of each nominee, please upload a photo in the following formats: jpg, jpeg or png. Photos must have a minimum width or height of 1080 pixels.

  • NNSWF Female Football Week Coach of the Year

    Criteria:

    - Nominee identifies as female

    - Involved in the game as an employed or volunteer coach for a minimum of 2 years

    - Shows respect for officials, opponents, team members and embraces the philosophy of fair play

    - Is a positive role model for the team by providing a safe and inclusive environment

    - Demonstrates commitment to continuous self development

    - Is a registered coach with an Affiliated Member Zone Club or a NNSWF Premier Club

  • NNSWF Female Football Week Referee of the Year

    Criteria:

    - Nominee identifies as female

    - Officiated at a club, association and/or state level in a paid or unpaid position

    - Contribution to the wider officiating community within football as a  mentor, instructor and/or positive role model

    - Demonstrated focus on improving the game through fairness, integrity, honesty & respect

    - Demonstrated commitment to continuous training and learning

    - Is a registered referee with an Affiliated Member Zone Referee Association or with NNSWF directly

  • NNSWF Female Football Week Volunteer of the Year

    Criteria:

    - Nominee identifies as female

    - Outstanding achievement in the development and/or delivery of projects and initiatives on behalf of the club

    - The extent to which the individual has delivered beyond expectations

    - The impact of the work to the broader community

    - Is a registered volunteer with an Affiliated Member Zone Club or a NNSWF Premier Club

  • NNSWF Female Football Week Male Champion of the Year

    Champion - definition: a person who vigorously supports or defends a person or cause. synonyms: advocate, ally, promoter, supporter

    Criteria:

    - A strong advocate for the promotion of women and girls both within football and within the community

    - Working to increase female participation in the game from grassroots to elite pathways

    - Committed to ensuring women & girls are represented and play an active role in developing the game

    - Demonstrates strong individual and collective leadership to breakdown barriers and stereotypes across the game

    - Demonstrates a personal passion for diversity and inclusion through internal and/or public facing programs and projects

  • NNSWF Female Football Week Club of the Year

    Criteria:

    - Is a NNSWF or Member Zone affiliated club

    - Shows a commitment to the development of women and girls football

    - Provides inclusive participation opportunities to break down barriers to participation and encourage more women and girls to participate in football

    - Has women and girls involved at all levels of the game including in decision-making roles

    - Desirable: Club provides opportunities to women and girls beyond football participation eg: coaching courses, refereeing opportunities, administration upskill, development opportunities, leadership/mentorship opportunities etc.
