Expression of Interest for Renew Cairns

Renew Cairns is a Renew Australia Initiative proudly supported by Cairns Regional Council. This one year pilot project aims to transform empty spaces into vibrant places in Cairns City Centre. If you create or make your own wares or IP, run a creative based community group, social enterprise or NFP and are seeking low cost or rent free space you may qualify for this exciting activation project. Through the occupation of otherwise vacant space, this project seeks to support local traders by filling empty shops, driving foot traffic around the area with a view to demonstrate new uses and businesses that will embrace this community. Let us know about your idea for Renew Cairns by completing the below form. Please take the time to read the Readiness Checklist at the bottom of the form for more details on the project. All Expressions of Interest will remain current during the life of the project. All projects must complement the existing area and not compete with established businesses nearby.

As Renew Cairns is a 'rent free' program we have a 'complement not compete policy' with the existing traders in the area and immediate surrounds. What makes your offer different from similar shops, spaces or practices in the area?
