The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, College of Pharmacy, Gulf Medical University, offers several Graduate Teaching Assistantship positions for applicants fulfilling the below criteria starting from August 2026 (Fall 2026). The graduate teaching assistant (GTA) will be enrolled as a graduate student in the Master’s in Drug Discovery and Development (MDD) program (Link) and will have teaching assistant responsibilities within the College of Pharmacy.
Graduate Teaching Assistants (GTAs)
Graduate teaching assistantships are appointments made to students enrolled in the master's drug discovery and development program. To maintain eligibility for the GTA position, graduate student appointees must stay in good academic standing while studying in the program. The GTA must be enrolled for the full course load graduate credits in the MDD program each Fall and Spring semesters.
Assistantship positions provide a full-tuition scholarship in addition to a monthly stipend. The tuition scholarship provides payment for the MDD program graduate credits for the academic year. The scholarships will pay for graduate credits listed on the student's Study Plan only.
GTAs provide approximately 30 hours of instructional service per week over a semester. GTAs may be assigned teaching assistant duties in undergraduate-level courses or related laboratories or discussion sessions, assist faculty members in their teaching duties and college-related tasks, proctor exams, grade reports and homework, record grades in grade book, along with other college-related duties assigned by the department chair.
