Competition (now virtual) is open to Saskatchewan non-professional musicians between 20 and 35 years of age (as of December 31 of the year preceding the competition). Competitors must live or study in the Province of Saskatchewan OR if studying outside of the province, have competed in a Saskatchewan Music Festival Competition within the preceding five years. Only those of talent and industry, who have the necessary potential for a possible career in the operatic world, should consider entering the competition, otherwise no scholarship will be awarded.
Entry form, with entry fee ($75), must be received by February 1 (video submission deadline February 15). Entry fees are non-refundable. Please supply complete and accurate information.
Video Recording and Submission Guidelines (by February 15)
- Be sure to check "No, it's not made for kids" when creating your video.
- Include a clear picture of the competitor and collaborative artist.
- Camera angle must remain consistent throughout the performance.
- The Dolby on app can be used for enhanced recording.
Selections may be performed consecutively on one video or submitted in separate videos - grouped together in a playlist.
- Video file is uploaded to a private YouTube channel as an ‘unlisted’ video. These videos can only be viewed by someone with the link.
- Upload PDF copy of music scores (separate files please).
