“The greatest blessing that God can give to man is the spirit of earnest prayer” (RH Oct. 20, 1896)
  • Can you imagine what would happen if there was continual humbling of heart and supplication for the out-pouring of the Holy Spirit 24/7?

Please review the guidelines and answer the quiz questions.

THE PURPOSE OF THE BOILER ROOM:

    I.   To lift up Jesus and the message of righteousness by faith.

II.  To receive the former rain and prepare for the latter rain.

III.  To lift up our 24/7 United Prayer Ministry.

    THE GUIDELINES:

Please begin on time and end on time. As the prayer facilitator, please join 5 minutes before you are scheduled to lead out. If you are leading out at 7 pm, please join at 6:55 pm. And when the clock goes from 7:29 to 7:30, please land the plane (end the prayer) right away so that the next prayer facilitator can take over and begin with the warm welcome at 7:30 pm. At 7:30 pm end your prayer with "we pray in Jesus' name, and all God's people said amen." After the amen, the next prayer facilitator who is scheduled to lead out at 7:30 pm will take over. It will be nice to begin the warm welcome by first thanking the previous prayer facilitator for leading.

    THE FORMAT:

    1. Warm Welcome using the Signature Introduction.

“A chain of earnest praying believers should encircle the world.’ Good morning, good afternoon, good evening. Welcome to the 24/7 United Prayer Boiler Room. My name is _______ and I live in _______”. It’s great to see people from all around the world. Before I continue, I would like to have an opening prayer.”

    2. Opening prayer

    3. Share a message that lifts up Jesus or a message about Righteousness By Faith. We want to help people to do the following: “Let the mind dwell upon His love, upon the beauty, the perfection, of His character. Christ in His self-denial, Christ in His humiliation, Christ in His purity and holiness, Christ in His matchless love—this is the subject for the soul’s contemplation. It is by loving Him, copying Him, depending wholly upon Him, that you are to be transformed into His likeness.” – {SC 70.2}

    4. After the two min devotional reading, ask for a SHORT 1 min reflection on what was read, what someone has read about Christ during their devotions or how they are experiencing Jesus. Ask people to also share about their Friend Jesus or how they are coming to know Jesus more personally. The goal is to start united prayer no later than the 10-minute mark.

After someone has shared a reflection or shared a testimony, please keep your comments short (1 minute) and ask for another (1 minute) testimony. The goal is to start united prayer no later than the 10-minute mark.

    5. Quickly go over the 4 sections and remind everyone to keep their prayers short (1-2 sentences).

Please mention that in an effort to remind people to keep their prayers short and stick to one topic, we will be muting when prayers are long or when people begin praying through lists.

    PRAISE (2-3 min.)

CONFESSION - surrender, dying to self, etc. (3-4 min.)

SUPPLICATION - focus on REVIVAL. Pray for the Holy Spirit and the Latter rain. Spend time asking that the Holy Spirit would open our eyes so we can see Jesus more clearly, and know Him as a precious friend, etc. Pray that Holy Spirit would pour the love of God into our hearts (Rom 5:5).

(Pray for personal/corporate/worldwide revival, pray for our calls.) After praying for revival, if there is silence, transition to praying for personal needs.

THANKSGIVING (2-3 minutes is sufficient. Do not begin before the 27 min mark.)

End the prayer session with “And all God’s people said, AMEN. (Pause and then say,) “At this time I will turn the time over to our next prayer facilitator who will lead us through the next half hour.”

    A GENERAL RULE:

After the prayers have been coming out for a while, the prayers will eventually begin to die down. As the prayers begin to die down, please plan on transitioning to the next section. It is best to transition to the next section before there is a long pause. (But if there is a long pause at the beginning, you will need to pray silently so that others would begin to pray.)

RULE FOR SMOOTH TRANSITIONS: When beginning United Prayer and when transitioning:

SAY A FEW WORDS (1-2 sentences) - Dear God, ...

REMIND EVERYONE (1-2 sentences) - At this time ...

SET AN EXAMPLE (1-2 sentences) - I would like to begin by praising You ...

     THE MOST COMMON MISTAKE:

Often Prayer facilitators get excited and forget to keep prayers and transitions short. It is very important that the PF model short prayers (1-2 sentences). Otherwise, other people will begin to pray very long prayers. And also when transitioning, it is important to keep it short and simple.

Why is this important? When prayers get long, people who are new to praying will get intimidated and will not pray. Others will get bored because you have a few people who are doing all the praying. People will soon start dropping out; only those who enjoy long prayers will remain. On prayer calls where people pray long prayers, you will often notice that it’s the same 4-5 individuals who are doing most of the praying.

Please mute people who are praying long prayers or praying through lists.

    THE 2nd MOST COMMON MISTAKE:

Often prayer facilitators will follow the rule for smooth transitions when going from praise to confession and from confession to supplication. But the rule is ignored when starting the united prayer. Please always begin united prayer with “Our Father” or something similar. After addressing our Father, 1. “say a few words”, 2. “remind everyone” that we will begin with praise, and 3. “set an example” by saying, "I would like to begin by praising You..."

For example: "Father in heaven, we thank you for the privilege of uniting in prayer together with your people from around the world. We would like to begin by lifting our voices in praise to You for Your word tells us that "it is good to sing praises to our God for it is pleasant and praise is beautiful." I would like to begin by praising You for You are faithful and You do not change.

Please do not begin united prayer by saying: “At this time we will begin united prayer. Psalm 100:5 says, ‘Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise.’ I will praise You for you are the King of kings and Lord of Lords.”

Why is this important? There are several reasons why this is important:

    1.   Jesus taught us in “the Lord’s prayer” to begin prayer by saying “Our Father in heaven.” This is the most common way of beginning prayer whether we are in our prayer closet or praying corporately with others. We want our prayer experience to be as natural as possible especially for the benefit of those who are joining us for the very first time who may feel uncomfortable.

    2.   Every prayer call is a training ground for other prayer facilitators. We want people to learn how to lead out in united prayer so they can take united prayer to their churches. When you go to a church or meet with people who have never experienced united prayer, if you do not follow the rule for smooth transitions as you begin praying, there will usually be a long pause that follows because people aren’t sure about what to do. Following the rule for smooth transitions eliminates confusion and long pauses.

Please make sure the *C1 Tech is the host and the *B1 PF is a co-host. Please work together to mute individuals who pray long prayers or pray through lists.
