    During coaching mentoring with an EHCAP accredited trainer you will talk through your adaptation of Dan Siegel's Hand Model and River of Wellbeing as well as the biology of stress and The Resilience Scale . You will describe a case example of managing difficullt emotions using Pia Jones 'Sometimes I feel' cards, describe at least two self-care practices and reflect on your progress linking reflections with the EMCC Professional Practice Standards.

    This form can be used to send reflections on how you are getting on using the MEC approach. Each time you submit this form you will automatically receive an email summary of what you have submitted. You only need to enter data once- the information will automatically load into an excel sheet which can be shared with you on request.

    If you prefer to dictate that's possible too! You can dictate into Word and either cut and paste the transcript into this form or send it by email.

    Another option is to create a case study - we have a form you can use or you can upload a document of your own. 

    You will also need to complete a personal statement covering the following questions (between 300 and 500 words)

    • what is coaching all about for you? (your vision or philosophy)
    • what motivates you to be a coach or use coaching skills?
      • when did you begin coaching?
      • approximatey how many coachees have you worked with over the last year? (relevant for leads and supervisors)
    • what theoretical underpinning principles shape your practice?
      • you might want to talk about MEC as an approach 
    • how has your practice evolved and  developed?
      • how and why are you integrating mindfulness and mindful activities into your life?
      • how is a trauma informed coaching approach different?
        • self-care is core to maintaining compassion and being present

        • engagement
        • biology of stress
        • emotion literacy building
      • how are you using online digital and AI technology in your coaching practice? e.g. automated booking appointments, feedback forms, Teams or Zoom.
    • how do you understand and apply the EMCC global code of ethics and diversity and inclusion declaration? (at the end of your manual)

  • Some people you are working with will have more difficulty than others engaging with mindful emotion coaching. Remember that we know from the science that there may be reasons for this. If you have any questions about this aspect of your coaching you need to make note within your reflections and discuss with your coaching supervisior.

    Reflections with the EMCC Professional Practice Standards (includes knowledge, skills and behaviours):

    Demonstrates awareness of own values, beliefs and behaviours; recognises how these affect their practice and uses this self-awareness to manage their
    effectiveness in meeting the client’s, and where relevant, the sponsor’s objectives

    Establishes and maintains the expectations and boundaries of the mentoring/coaching contract with the client and, where appropriate, with sponsors

  • Both the EMCC and the PCI require you to reflect on using Mindful Emotion Coaching in real life with colleagues, friends, family or within your professional or voluntary role. You can either add your own reflections in the next text box, upload a document or email your trainer.
