Join us for an exhilarating day filled with the sights, sounds
and smells of historic racing glamour!
During his action packed life, Richard Shuttleworth was a passionate racing motorist, aviator and prolific collector of veteran cars and aircraft. He restored numerous veteran cars and aircraft which make up part of the Shuttleworth Collection today.
Our popular annual Race Day will once again celebrate Richard’s passion for aviation and motoring, with owners of pre-WWII race cars and bikes invited to participate in the Shuttleworth Sprint and compete for the ‘Spirit of Shuttleworth’ trophy.
Participants will take exhilarating sprints along the grass runway from 11am onwards, followed by special guest vehicles (tba). For the latter part of the afternoon, we have an exciting line up of racing aircraft planned for the air display.
To complement the Sprint, owners of non-racing vintage & classic vehicles are invited to exhibit in the period paddocks to celebrate Shuttleworth’s motoring legacy.
2022 also marks the centenary of the King’s Cup Air Race, which Richard Shuttleworth competed in. We are delighted to be hosting this famous race on Friday 30th September with participating race aircraft on display throughout Saturday. Sprint participants are invited to arrive on the Friday or Saturday to enjoy this spectacle; we hope you’ll be able to join us where you’ll have the opportunity to arrive in a relaxed manner and socialise with your fellow motoring enthusiasts.
