Equipment rental information
Thank you for your interest in borrowing our family cycling equipment.

Lewisham Family Cycling Library (LFCL) is run by volunteers from Lewisham Cyclists. Our aim is to encourage family cycling as an environmentally-friendly, efficient and accessible means of transport, regardless of income.

We have running and repair costs which we need to cover, plus cycling around fetching and delivering cycling gear takes up time and energy. We are asking for suggested donation amounts for borrowing our equipment. However, if you are struggling to meet this, then just donate what you feel you can - if anything.

In all cases, a deposit will be needed in addition to the donation. This deposit is refundable if all terms and conditions are met.

We work to a general 2-week hire period. If you wish to have a longer hire, it will be based on availability and we ask for additional donations.

Note, due to volunteer constraints, we cannot accomodate requests outside of Lewisham.

We will process your application as soon as possible and contact you by email. For your information:

- you will need to send us deposit and donation by BACS before handover of equipment

- you will need to complete and sign a rental agreement form

- you will need to show 2 pieces of identification at handover (one with your photo, one with your address).

- hire of electric cargocycle requires 20-30 minute training beforehand.

- hire of electric cargocycle requires keeping it in indoors or locked securely outdoors to an immovable structure. The battery is fixed, so access to electric socket/extension is needed.

- you will need to fetch and return equipment from our base in Lewisham
