Tasha Marie Keiter was born April 28th, 1993, in Kearney, Nebraska to David and Diane (Dunse) Keiter. She received her education at Kearney High School, where she was active in the marching band and the golf team all four years. Tasha graduated from high school in May of 2011 and was currently attending Hastings College, where she played on the women's golf team. She enjoyed the game of golf and the people who played it and was a great competitor. Tasha was known for her fun-loving spirit, beautiful smile and long gorgeous curly red hair. Her friends and family recognize her ability to lift up everyone she met with her smile and genuine love to include everyone in her excitement. She had compassion for all animals, especially her dog "Buddy." Tasha lived life to the fullest each day.
Tasha Keiter, 19, died Wednesday, July 4th, 2012, as a result of a motor vehicle accident.
About the Scholarship
PGA REACH Nebraska administers the Tasha Keiter Scholarship for young women who enjoy the game of golf. The purpose of the scholarship is to assist female students in furthering their education. One female high school graduate and one female postgraduate will be the 2024 Scholarship recipients in the amount of $1,000 each.
Any female graduating high school senior or previous graduate residing within the boundaries of the Nebraska PGA Section is eligible to apply. The Nebraska Section consists of the entire State of Nebraska, part of the State of Iowa west of the 95th-degree longitude, which is approximately Highway 71 and a small portion of South Dakota including Dakota Dunes and Yankton.
*All applicants who are enrolled at a college within the Nebraska Section PGA are eligible to apply for this scholarship.
Scholarship winners are selected on the basis of their interest and activity in golf, the potential for future contributions to the game, leadership skills/community involvement, then on their academic/professional ability and financial need.
PGA REACH Nebraska is now accepting applications for the 2024 Tasha Keiter Scholarship Applicants must complete the application before March 15th, 2024.
