  • Safe Space Policy

At the West End Cultural Centre, we hope people of all genders, abilities, cultures, and sexualities feel welcome at our shows. As such, any form of discrimination will not be tolerated and may be subject to immediate dismissal. This can include but is not limited to racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, fatphobic or ableist comments; sexual harassment; and bullying. Artists and volunteers with a known history of sexual or discriminatory misconduct will not be given a second chance to play at our events unless they have undergone demonstrable rehabilitative counselling. Second chances are at the discretion of West End Cultural Centre staff and board of directors.
  • COVID-19 Policy

The West End Cultural Centre believes a healthy community is at the heart of everything we do. All performers, crew, staff, volunteers, and patrons must show respect for people's personal space. Face masks are welcome on all WECC premises. Some shows may require masks for the safety of the audience or the performers. These practices are meant to keep all of us safe to enjoy all the art and music that Winnipeg has to offer.
  • Land Acknowledgement and Commitment to Reconciliation

The West End Cultural Centre acknowledges that we are located on Treaty 1 land, the traditional territory of the Anishinebek, Inimiwak, and the homeland of the Metis Nation. The province of Manitoba is also situated within the homelands of the Anishininwak, Dakota, Denesuline, and Inuit. We also offer our thanks to Shoal Lake & Shoal Lake First Nations 39 & 40 as the source of Winnipeg’s water and the First Nation’s of Treaty 1, 3, & 5 as the source of Winnipeg’s hydroelectric power. As part of our commitment to reconciliation, we intend to use our position as one of the leading music venues in Winnipeg to support upcoming Indigenous musicians and continue to present Indigenous musicians as part of our annual concert programming.
