Typical care needs per category:
Kittens: Kittens are generally in care for under 4 weeks. They are booked in for their vetwork as soon as they reach 1kg and are ready to be adopted into their new homes the following week
Unsocialised kittens: Kittens who are impounded from stray colonies are not yet socialised and are fearful of humans. This means they may bite or scratch and will take a short time to adjust before they feel safe and comfortable. Caring for frightened kittens and helping to gain their trust and become adoptable, loving members of the family is extremely rewarding and usually takes under 2 weeks to become comfortable with handling. Unsocialised kittens are usually in care for under 4 weeks.
Adult cats: Adult cats are range in age, energy levels and disposition. They just need a safe place to stay while their forever home is found. They have a more difficult adoption timeline to predict, their vetwork is usually completed in the first week, but finding their dream home may take as little as a wee, or as long as several months.
Unsocialised adults: Unsocialised adults are usually with us for a short stay while their vetwork is completed. These cats are adopted into barn/stable cat homes after they are desexed/chipped/vaccinated and are usually in care for under 2 weeks.
Low maintenance cats: These are friendly/healthy adult cats who require less effort and time in the day than kittens and special needs cats for full time workers.
Cats with Ringworm: Fostering a cat with Ringworm usually requires a minimum of a 2-week stay, however could be up to 4 weeks. All ringworm cats should be kept in a strictly quarantined room that is easily cleaned, preferably without carpeting or upholstery (such as a bathroom).
