Each volunteer is responsible for safeguarding confidential information obtained during volunteer service. In the course of your service, you may have access to confidential information regarding the agency, its clients, its supplies or perhaps even employees. It is your responsibility to in no way reveal or disclose any such information. As a volunteer for KCAO I agree to:
- A volunteer/intern is anyone who chooses to perform services for KCAO without compensation or expectation of compensation and who performs a task at the direction of and on behalf of KCAO Undergo health screening, including all immunization required for Head Start and Child Development programs
- Fill out a criminal record statement and will receive clearance through a live scan or volunteer less than 16 hours a week if applicable
- Follow the agency’s dress code at all times
- Sign in and out recording attendance each day and attend service sessions as appropriate
- Follow the agency’s confidentiality policy at all times
- Follow program confidentiality policies concerning information about children, families, and other staff members.
- Use positive methods of child guidance and you will not engage in corporal punishment, emotional or physical abuse, or humiliation. In addition, you will not employ methods of discipline that involve isolation, the use of food as punishment or reward, or the denial of basic needs.
Violations of these agreements and standard of conduct can result in termination of your volunteer service, at management’s sole discretion. There is no stand series of disciplinary steps KCAO must follow for termination of volunteer service. In certain circumstances, your conduct may lead to immediate termination and can be with no explanation.
