  • Purpose:   The purpose of this policy is to communicate all required guidelines to ensure all levels of hygiene, appearance and professionalism are adhered to at all times by each employee of a HOTWORX studio.   While we are in a casual fitness facility and environment, staff should always be dressed for work and professional customer interaction and not for a workout.  Additionally, all steps of discipline for failure to follow the policy are outlined. 


    Ladies Uniform Requirements:


    NOTE:  Approved uniforms are available through our approved vendor and can be purchased HERE.  Be sure to select the “UNIFORMS” menu on this site to find those items that are approved for uniform.  Not all gear/clothing on this site is approved for staff uniforms.  


    Uniform Tops:  Approved HOTWORX shirts, those predominantly showing “HOTWORX” on the front are the only allowed uniform tops. Shirts must be free of any lint, wrinkles, stains and discoloration, holes and any other imperfections. 


    Bottoms:  Solid black or grey athletic bottoms (must be at least knee length on longer), are permitted.  All bottoms must be free of any lint, wrinkles, stains, discoloration, holes or any other imperfections and may not be see-through.  The fit of the bottoms should be loose or form fitting only and not overly tight.  Bottoms must be free of any writing other than HOTWORX logos.  


    Gentlemen Uniform Requirements:

    Uniform Tops:  Approved HOTWORX logo shirts, those predominantly showing “HOTWORX” on the front are the allowed tops.  All uniform shirts must be free of any lint, wrinkles, stains, discoloration, holes or any other imperfections. 


    Bottoms:  Black or grey athletic bottoms or shorts are permitted.  Shorts and pants are not to have bulky cargo pockets and must be free of any lint, wrinkles, stains, discoloration, holes or any other imperfections.  Bottoms must be free of any writing or graphics other than HOTWORX logos.   


    Ladies & Gentlemen Shoes:  Professional athletic closed-toe tennis shoes must be worn at all times. Thong sandals, flip-flops, crock style plastic/rubber shoes or beach shoes are NEVER permitted. Shoes must be free of holes, stains and discoloration.   Laces and buckles must remain fastened at all times.


    Name Badges:  Approved name badges must be worn at all times by all employees.  Name badges are to be placed on the left chest area and are to be visible at all times on the uniform top.  Badges should be free from bends and other imperfections. 


    Overall Appearance & Hygiene (all employees):  HOTWORX prides itself on the highest standards of customer service, cleanliness and professionalism.  As a representative for a fitness brand, employees must portray this image when working inside and outside of the studio.  To conform to these standards, the following must be in order both when employees are working inside and outside of the studio:

    • Hair must be clean and brushed at all times. Hair color and styles should be professional and neat at all times.
    • Makeup must be worn in a professional manner and freshly applied.
    • Fingernails and toenails must be properly manicured and pedicured to ensure there are no chipped nails or polish
    • Excessive piercings and/or tattoos should be covered when possible.

    Employee Uniform & Appearance Agreement


    Corrective Action:  If any of the mentioned guidelines are not met when an employee arrives for a shift, he/she will not be allowed to clock in and will be sent home upon arrival to return in proper uniform. The manager and/or franchisee may issue a record of counseling or a record of corrective action at any time a manager, TSA or any other employee is not in proper uniform.   Termination can result after violations of the uniform policy become repeated.


    By signing this document, I hereby agree to and fully understand the guidelines and requirements included in this uniform and appearance policy.  I agree to adhere to the requirements contained in this agreement.  I understand that if at any time I do not comply with any of the guidelines mentioned, that corrective action measures will be taken.   I further acknowledge that this policy may be amended at times and that new requirements may be communicated and implemented by my supervisor.
