
Purpose
Theresa Crewe was a long time supporter of St. Joseph High School. Her six children and many extended family members attended SJHS and her husband, the late Dr. David O. Crewe served on the SJHS Board of Directors. Theresa was proud of her hometown community of Kenosha and was passionate about serving our community. Theresa, affectionately called Tree by family and friends, and was also known for her faith and unwavering kindness. We are honored to grant these scholarships in her honor.
The committee will award one $1,000 scholarship - to a rising freshman, sophomore, junior or senior. The award will be applied directly to their tuition. The recipient is eligible to reapply and be considered again for the scholarship in subsequent years.
Eligibility
- Open to one rising freshman, sophomore, junior or senior
- Demonstrates strong values and desire to serve community.
- Maintain good academic standing of a 3.0 GPA.
- Member of St. Mark Parish encouraged to apply.
Scholarship Requirements
- Be registered at St. Joseph Catholic Academy for the upcoming school year.
- Complete a SJCA Financial Aide form in a timely manner, as required by the Admissions Office. (Financial need will be taken into account by the scholarship committee.)
- Provide a copy of your most recent report card.
- Complete a brief essay answering the following questions - Why do you want to attend or why you already attend SJCA, what would/do you bring to the school community and how you plan to serve your community.
Selection Process
The Scholarship Award Selection Committee will review applications. Scholarship money will be sent directly to St. Joseph Catholic Academy to be applied to the recipient’s tuition.
All relevant documents must submitted together by March 15, 2026 with the scholarship application to be considered complete.
*Scholarships that are awarded may only be used towards billable tuition. Scholarships may not be used for fees or other charges which include but are not limited to hot lunch, athletics or clubs fees and books. Students who receive a scholarship and are later awarded a Wisconsin Parental Choice seat will forfeit their scholarship. Scholarships are prorated during the the duration of the school year.*
*All scholarship recipients are required to submit an impact statement that reflects on their experiences and the benefits of the scholarship. This statement must be submitted no later than May 1, 2026, as part of the scholarship agreement.*
