Inset: The door and drawer fronts are flush with the cabinet frame, creating a seamless look and more of a traditional and elegant appearance. This cabinet is more difficult to construct taking the cost to 2-3 times a full overlay option. Full overlay: The door and drawer fronts completely cover the cabinet frame, creating a sleek and modern look(to your left). For Inset cabinetry, our two available cabinet lines are Mouser and Kountry Kraft

Depending on sink selection, the sink base in your kitchen will change. A 30" sink base would allow for a 27" sink, a 33" sink base would allow for 30" sink an so on! Both styles come in multiple different colors and materials but require a different sink base which is dependent on the sink choice. We don't need your exact sink selection at this point, but the style of the sink would be extremely helpful at this point.

There are typically two different types of vent hoods available if a microwave is not being placed above the stove. Stainless steel stand alone and integrated wood hoods. Stainless steel hoods are purchased separately with the supplied specs for spacing. Integrated wood hoods are typically purchased to match the cabinets and usually span the entire gap between both side cabinets, however there are exceptions. Depending on the cabinet line chosen, the availability and options of the wood hoods can change. We also work with Hoodsly.com and Fabuwood to color match any of their hoods!

Islands can be tricky to place if there is not already one inside of the room. If there is, ensure to grab the measurements and pictures of it. To place an island in a kitchen, multiple distances need to be considered. The first measurement would be from the base cabinets on the wall to the island cabinets. We recommend that this distance is no less than 36", this allows for ease of movement around the island and clearance for appliances to be moved about down the road. The second distance that would need to be considered is the distance from the fridge to the island if the fridge will sit opposite of the island. If so, we recommend bringing that clearance distance to 42" to give a little more space in case a larger fridge is purchased and room for large fridge doors to swing, this is not a requirement but more of a suggestion. If these clearances are difficult to obtain OR if the client wishes, we could also design a peninsula. A peninsula is an island that is just connected to the cabinets along the wall by a corner cabinet. These can also be referred to as breakfast bars. This type of configuration would allow for some stool seating and additional counter space if an island is not feasible.

Crown molding on cabinets is a decorative trim piece that is installed along the top of the cabinet. It typically consists of a curved or angled strip of wood that is applied to the top of the cabinet, creating a finished look and adding a decorative touch. Depending on ceiling height, crown molding can be a great option, aesthetically speaking. Each cabinet line has their own selection of crown molding which will be discussed based upon the dimensions of your kitchen! If crown molding is not chosen, most clients do so for two reasons. 1) They wish to have their upper cabinets are tall as possible, reducing the overall space available for crown molding. Typically leaving 1-3 inches above of open space the cabinets. 2) They wish to put their cabinets up against the ceiling for the finished look (please note that if this is a renovation, if the ceiling is sloped or has settled through the years, this style of install will exaggerate the inconsistencies).

A light rail on cabinets is a trim piece that is installed on the bottom of the cabinet, typically at the base of the door or just above the countertop. The light rail helps to conceal the gap between the cabinet door and the countertop, creates a finished look and also provides additional lighting to the countertop. The light rail is typically made of the same material as the cabinet and can be installed during the cabinet installation or added as a retrofit.

Deco doors are mounted to sides of cabinets to give a finished look. They essentially are false door fronts that cover the sides or backs of cabinets or an island. If deco doors are not wanted, the cabinet would have finished smooth panel.

There are typically two different types of backsplashes, tile and full height backsplash. Tile backsplash is the most common choice amongst homeowners and is your typical tile that fills the space between your countertop and the bottom of the cabinets. Full height backsplash is when your countertop material is supplied to fill the space between the actual counters and cabinets. There is also the option to run the selection option up the wall behind the hood vent if wanted. This would fill the space behind the hood and between the cabinets on either side of the hood up to the top of the cabinets or ceiling. We would only need to know the choice due to pricing of the countertops featured in the following few questions!

At the Cabinet Company we partner with one of the biggest stone suppliers in the area. The partnership allows us to supply counters to our clients at a discount. Stone Crafters allows us to purchase stone at a per square foot basis, otherwise private customers would have to purchase by the slab. This savings and purchasing power is passed onto our clients so we can provide a one stop shopping experience! We coordinate the showroom meeting, final selections, template scheduling, and counter top delivery/install. Would you like a price on counter tops? We will price you on a Level 0 with initial quote. After final selection, we will send out final price for sign off. We do not need a selection at this point but an idea of what color countertops the client is looking for would be helpful so we can include that color in the rendering and design!
