  • USDA law requires that any goat or sheep who crosses state lines must physically have one of the USDA-approved forms of Identification on the goat.  Forms are on our check list of types.

    Any states who conform to the USDA Scrapie law (which is most states) require this same type of Identification on goats and sheep who change ownership, but not limited to ownership changes.

    IDGR Policy states that all Registrations, Ownership Transfers and DNA submissions require the USDA-approved Identification which matches the paperwork to physically be on the animal. This makes it easier for everyone.
