If your pet is 10 years or older, we ask that you agree to the terms of our Rainbow Contract. Although we do everything in our power to keep all pets safe, happy, and comfortable, there is always a risk that an older dog may reach the end of their life during their stay with us. We understand that this is a difficult subject, and if you have any questions or concerns, please discuss with staff. If your pet shows signs of serious injury or illness, we will seek veterinary care. If possible, we will seek care from your primary veterinarian. However, if necessary, either due to the severity of the incident or the proximity and availability of the nearest facility, Fetching Ridge will seek treatment at an emergency veterinary facility. If neither Fetching Ridge nor the veterinarian is able to contact you, please describe in as much detail as possible the level of treatment you would like for your pet (i.e. "do everything possible," "I can afford $XXX,'" "If the pet is suffering, do XXX," "If the outlook after treatment could result in XXX amount of life left,I want XXXX to be done for my pet," etc)*

If your pet were to pass during its stay, either at our facility or at a veterinarian's, there are several options as to what can be done with the body. A veterinarian can store the remains so that you can have a burial upon your return. Cremation is also an option. You may contact cremation services independently, or you can ask the veterinarian's office to arrange these services. The price for these services varies. Fetching Ridge will not make any decisions regarding the cremation of your pet. Should your pet pass, we will have a veterinarian store the remains until you are available to make any further decisions.*
