Pittsfield 4th of July Musical Unit Application

Location:  Downtown Pittsfield, Massachusetts 

Join us in the heart of the Berkshire Mountains of Western Massachusetts, one of the most unique places in New England for one of the oldest 4th of July celebrations in the country! 

The Pittsfield 4th of July Parade has a historic reputation dating back to 1801 when the procession consisted of Revolutionary War survivors, patriots, politicians, and horse-drawn carriages.  Today, the parade plays host to marching bands, drum corps, balloons, floats, entertainment groups, and special guest stars.  Assemble them all into one parade, and you have a true New England Independence Day celebration!

The oohs and ahhs of over 50,000 spectators thrill the parade participants. The parade is broadcast by a local Pittsfield television station and is available live on social media outlets.  More information about the parade is available at www.pittsfieldparade.com

 

The parade provides an appearance fee (including transportation) for marching musical unit appearances.

If the appearance fee is accepted, two copies of our appearance agreement will be mailed to you.

As an authorized representative of this organization/business and its participating members, I/we hereby understand and agree to accept the risk of bodily injury and/or property damage which I/we may incur or cause a third party to incur as a result of my/our participation in the Pittsfield 4th of July Parade. With this understanding, I/we further agree to indemnify, defend and save harmless the City of Pittsfield, the Pittsfield 4th of July Parade Committee, Inc. and its Boards, its Commissions, its Contractors, and their respective officers, agents, and employees from and against any and all claims, losses, injuries, suits, and judgments arising from, or in connection with/my successors, assigns, heirs, executors and administrators, and any other persons or entity's who/which may have a claim based on my/our personal injuries and/or property damage. I/we understand that segments of the media will be present at the parade and I/we grant an unconditional release for all rights of publications, press, radio, and television present and future, along with all video and photographic rights by virtue of their appearance.  I/we further understand and agree that this saves harmless and indemnification shall apply to and all facilities that the City of Pittsfield may own and/or control. Furthermore, I/we have read and agree to abide by the Pittsfield 4th of July Parade guidelines and rules, as shown in the pages provided and those to be presented with the participant's information package if my unit is accepted.
