Authors can participate in the Lubbock Book Festival in 4 different capacities:

1. Hosting an Author Booth.  These are booths placed throughout the Exhibit Area, where authors can sell their books to and engage with attendees.  Authors booths cost $40 per booth and the author MUST be present at all times, for both days, during the Festival.  The booths are comprised of a 6 ft. x 3 ft. table, with a black table cloth included.  You are encouraged to bring table decorations to spruce up your space, though we don't have any walls or structures behind your table to hang signs, shirts, posters, etc.  Boxed lunches can be purchased for an additional $15 for Saturday only.  
2. Running a Writing Workshop.  These writing workshops are an hour in length, and they're a chance for you to share your writing skills and prowess with other authors.  There is no cost to running a workshop.
3. Being in a Panel Discussion.  These panel discussions have 2-3 authors (with an additional moderator!) who get to discuss writing, genre, and storytelling in front of an audience.  Panels are generally 45 minutes in length.  There is no cost to taking part in a panel.
4. Moderating a Panel Discusson.  If you'd like to ask questions and direct the flow of discussion during a panel, then this is the task for you!  Panels are generally 45 minutes and length.  You will be working with 2-3 authors on the panel.  There is no cost to taking part in a panel.

Extras!

That Friday before (on October 14th), the Festival presenters will invite all attending authors to our signature Prologue Party.  The Prologue Party is a chance for us to celebrate you, and to thank you for everything you're doing for us.  It is free for attending authors, but any additional guests will have to pay a discounted entry fee.  You can mark whether you'd like to bring anyone later on!

Boxed lunches can be purchased for and additional fee for Saturday only.  If you have an author booth, the sandwich will be brought to your table.  You do not have to get a boxed lunch if you'd prefer to get your own lunch.  This is completely optional!  You can mark whether you'd like a box lunch later on.  And if you have any dietary restrictions, but want a boxed lunch, there's a place for you to enter that information later on.
