Dear Scholarship Applicant:
The Carroll County Farm Bureau Foundation's scholarship program provides scholarships to college students who are majoring in agriculture, agribusiness, or an ag-related course of study. The scholarships are awarded on the basis of exceptional scholastic ability and/or financial need.
This year we are pleased to offer a minimum of six (6) $1000 scholarships along with the Harold Schmidt Memorial Forestry Scholarship, also in the amount of $1000.
All applicants must meet these eligibility guidlines:
- Must be a high school graduate.
- Must be a Carroll County Farm Bureau member, spouse of member, or member's child.
- Must be accepted for enrollment or be enrolled at an accredited college, university, community college, or technical/trade school.
- Must exhibit potential for sucessful completion of course of study.
- May not have recieved a CCFB Foundation scholarship more than twice.
- Must be a resident of Illinois.
Applicants may apply for any of the following scholarships. In addition to the above quidelines, specific requirements for each scholoaship are listed below:
Carroll County Farm Bureau Foundation Scholarships
- (6) $1000 scholarships awarded
- Major must be in agriculture, agribusiness, or an ag-related field.
- Must be a high school senior graduating in the spring or be currently enrolled in college.
Harold Schmidt Memorial Forestry Scholarship
- (1) $1000 scholarship awarded
- Major must be one of the following fields:
- Forestry; Forest Resource Management; Forest Recreation and Park Management; and Urban Forestry
- Wood Science and its related disciplines.
- Wildlife Biology and its related disciplines.
- Botany and its related disciplines.
- General Biology or other fields relating to forestry.
- Ag- Related field at the discretionary of the Board of Directors.
Additional scholarships may be offered based on the number and qualifications of applicants. This decision rests with the Board of Directors of the Carroll County Farm Bureau Foundation.
In addition to eligibility guidelines, the following will be considered in selecting recipients:
- Scholarship
- Academic performace and honors
- Class rank/SAT
- A demonstrated interest in the chosen course of study
- Financial need
- Evidence of willingness to seek out financial assistance.
- Character
- Maturity
- Industriousness and motivation
- Moral Character.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities.

You are responsible for including the following items with your application. If one or more documents are missing, your application may be disqualified. Transcripts and/or reference letters may be mailed separatley, if necessary.

Recommendation should be submitted by applicant. Applicant should request the person who fills out recommendation forms return them in sealed envelopes. Please be sure to notify those providing recommendations of the applicantion deadline to ensure prompt completion of their appraisal.
