• Valley of the Moon Labrador Retrievers

    Application
  • Hey there...thanks for completing this application! At first glance, you might think "sheesh, this is a little long - are all these questions really necessary?" I know, because I thought the same thing when we got our dogs! We hand raise all of our puppies in our home with our children and love them, and we hope you love your puppy, too.

Every family is different, and there are no right or wrong answers. We know many families have two working adults and we don't expect anyone to be a superhero and quit a day job just to be able to take home a puppy. We do expect the puppy will receive proper socialization and training to ensure the pup has a strong foundation.  Why does this matter?  Most dogs relinquished to shelters are between 9 months to 1 year due to behavioral problems.  We see this as a failure and most importantly preventable!!!!! Please think what your families plan will be for your pup for the next 6 months to ensure they get what they need and in turn, you have an ENJOYABLE family member.

Every puppy family has different needs, and this application helps us identify who needs what information and what homes might make the best fit. If you're a veteran Labradoodle owner, we don't want to waste your time regaling things you already know; by the same token, if this is your first puppy or first Labradoodle, we want to make sure you leave prepared for what life with a puppy may bring. So again, thank you!

    • Puppy Preference
    • We understand this can be a very exciting time for our potential puppy buyers! At 8 weeks of age we allow our approved buyers on our waiting list to make their picks in the order their applications were approved.  If you choose to continue and earn your puppies AKC STAR Puppy designation and then AKC Canine Good Citizen designation we will refund your purchase price up to $300.00!!!!

We completely understand the urge for potential puppy parents to want to come to visit our puppies. We do not allow any visitors until the puppy are 6 weeks of age. This allows their mothers plenty of time to bond with them, often our females are very protective of their new babies until around then. Puppies this young are not vacinated and are vulnerable to all the cooties found on the bottom of our shoes!  Parvo...I am referring to YOU!

We try and post weekly updates of our puppies so you will see many photos and videos of the puppies until you are able to come to meet them! Please follow our Facebook page @vomlabradoodles or Instagram valley_of_the_moon_doods

    • About Puppy's New Family
    • This is where we find out a little more about the puppy's new home and family. Please remember in most cases there is no "right" or "wrong" answer. This is just a way to get to know you!

    • Please tell us a little about where puppy will live as a puppy (we know circumstances change).

    • Ownership Commitment
    • This is where we want to make sure we are all on the same page, please contact us if you have any questions or concerns!

    • What to expect
    • Completing this application is a step in the process to acquiring a puppy from Shannon & Isaac Vargas, but it does not guarantee I'll get a puppy from this or any future litter. While it's unlikely, the breeder reserves the right to refuse any puppy placement at any time.

If this application is approved, you'll be notified when the puppies are born and be required to send a $300 non-refundable deposit within 7 days in order to hold the puppy. Please note our deposit policy: if you make a deposit, you are committing to take a puppy from the litter.  If the gender/color preference is not available it will be placed on the next available litter. Should you elect to not take a puppy from the litter, the deposit is forfeited. We do the best to match preferences. Deposits are non-refundable.

From time to time we may decide to keep a puppy out of a litter-this would be to continue our line of Labradoodles. We reserve the right to hold puppies. This may mean that certain puppies may not be available.

Puppies will go to their new homes at 8 weeks. We cannot hold puppies for an extended time.  Puppies must be picked up within 3 days unless other written arrangements are made.

We have a contract and will not place a puppy without a signed contract. We believe it's the professional thing to do to memorialize our obligations to each other on paper so there are no questions later, and for that reason, it's a bit lengthy. If you have questions about specific terms, you need to contact us prior to picking up your puppy.

We require spay/neuter at or before 24 months. Proof of the procedure from your vet will be required.

*We do not allow any puppy to leave our property prior to 8 weeks of age, NO EXCEPTIONS*
