  • DESCRIPTION:

As a re-granter of state funds provided by the Mass Office of Travel & Tourism, the MetroWest Visitors Bureau seeks to support the marketing efforts of other entities in MetroWest whose goals align with our mission of generating revenue in any of the 19 towns that comprise MetroWest, as designated by the RTC legislation. (Our region includes: Ashland, Bellingham, Framingham, Franklin, Holliston, Hopedale, Hopkinton, Hudson, Marlborough, Medway, Milford, Millis, Natick, Northborough, Sherborn, Southborough, Sudbury, Wayland and Westborough)

The MWVB will consider mini-grant applications for projects devoted to marketing a MetroWest event, attraction, business, service, or cultural or recreational offering. The marketing project must be targeted, at least partially, at potential visitors to our area.  (“Visitor” is defined as one who travels more than 50 miles or who stays overnight. For this grant cycle, virtual events that can demonstrate social media marketing reach beyond 50 miles will be counted as Visitors.) The applicant does not need to be a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. The applicant must be based in one of the 19 towns that comprise MetroWest or be devoted to attracting potential visitors to the 19 towns.

    REQUIREMENTS:

Size of mini-grants:  Grants of $1,000 - $5,000 will be awarded during this grant cycle.

Eligible applicants: The applicant must be based in one of the 19 towns that comprise MetroWest or be devoted to attracting potential visitors to the 19 towns.

Eligible projects:  Brochures, print or online advertising, social media, websites, apps, and other print materials may be considered for a mini-grant. In the case of print projects, at least part of the distribution must be more than 50 miles from MetroWest or, in the case of online marketing projects, must be targeted primarily at people more than 50 miles away (or people who would stay overnight in MetroWest).  Pilot and/or repeat projects are eligible.  For event-oriented projects, some operational expenses can be covered, including online/technology expenses for virtual events.

Deadline: Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, with a final deadline for this grant cycle of April 1, 2022 at 11:59 PM EDT (Midnight)
