WHAT IS A CAUCUS?

A meeting at which local political party members register their preference among candidates running for office or select delegates to attend a convention. This is where you get to choose your representation at the local, state, or federal levels. Attending a caucus meeting and choosing your leadership is the most important role you have in influencing elections.

Important: If you want to make REAL change and make a difference, please show up and get involved. The position of delegate is crucial to picking and choosing your elected leaders. By getting involved, you have the power to make the much-needed change to nominate strong candidates that represent your values. This is how we take our party back and our state back.

Caucus takes place in three steps, and you must participate in all three steps to vote for Mike Murphy as the endorsed candidate in May at the MNGOP state convention.

1. LOCAL BPOU / SENATE DISTRICT CAUCUS

Date: 02/01/2022
Time: 7:00 PM

Goal:

Become a delegate to your BPOU / Senate District convention. Which takes place at a later time, anytime between mid-February to the end of March 2022.

At the meeting on 02/01/2022, you will learn the date of your BPOU convention. To find which senate district and house district you live in, please CLICK HERE and follow the steps on the State’s website. Please note the caucus finder link from the State of MN will not be active until mid-January. 

Sometime early to Mid January 2022, you will receive an email from us telling you where you need to go on 02/01/2022 to start the delegate process.

IMPORTANT: When you arrive, please follow all directions and know which precinct you belong to. If you need help, someone at the event will be able to assist you.

 

2. LOCAL BPOU / SENATE DISTRICT CONVENTION

Date: Any day between 02/12/2022 and 03/31/2022 (Determined by the local party, BPOU)

Time: TBD

Goal:

To become a delegate to the Minnesota Republican Party State nominating convention. At the Local BPOU convention, you get to nominate your state representative and state senator and become a delegate at the MNGOP nominating convention in Rochester, Minnesota.

IMPORTANT: When you arrive, please follow all instructions and make sure to sign up to be a delegate for the MNGOP State Convention. You must sign up at this event when you arrive. You are not automatically entered to be a state delegate.

 

3. MINNESOTA REPUBLICAN PARTY STATE CONVENTION – ROCHESTER MINNESOTA 

Date: 05/13/2022 AND 05/14/2022
 
Time: Starts on the afternoon of the 13th, continues to Saturday. You will receive additional instructions from Mike and the MNGOP after the local BPOU convention.

Goal:

To nominate Mike Murphy as the official Republican Endorsed Candidate for Governor of Minnesota. You will also be endorsing candidates for attorney general, secretary of state, state auditor, and other positions.
