Musicians Australia is the union for Australia's working musicians, part of the Media, Entertainment and Arts Alliance (MEAA).

Our members are building a nationwide Gig Map to find out who pays and who doesn't. The Gig Map, along with our Campaign for a Minimum Fee, are part of our plan to build a better, fairer and more sustainabile music industry.

Our members have won recognition of the minimum fee for publicly funded gigs from every state and territory government, with the exception of NT.

This means that if a venue, festival or event has received government funding, musicians must be paid the $250 minimum fee (per musician, per gig).

If you’re not sure whether your gig was funded, you can find a list of funding recipients for various programs on the website of your relevant state government or arts agency:
