For so many years, Marlene and Jerry Myers have been our strongest supporters. From their support for our events to their contributions to our programming to the wonderful building that houses us, Marlene and Jerry have been our mainstays.
Perhaps her greatest gift to us is the Marlene Myers Nature Garden. With just 33 trees, it is the smallest school forest in Minnesota certified for children’s education. Visitors enter the magical space through a vine-covered trellis and come upon an outdoor classroom with granite pillars and limestone seats, a rain garden surrounding a deck, fruit trees, native prairie grass, a perennial flower garden, a berry patch and a vegetable garden. It allows the children at Turnquist Child Enrichment Center, who live in urban environments, to enjoy green spaces and to learn about a variety of ecosystems.
We will always remember Marlene with gratitude and love. Thank you for continuing her legacy of giving with your donation, which will be designated as being “in Memory of Marlene Myers,” and will be used where it is most needed.
