I Understand
5. If working the yard, all breaks must be approved by dispatch prior to starting them.
*
I Understand
6. Do not take breaks parked inside Kamtek main complex other than in front of Averitt office or on the road. Do not do it at K2, Railroad yard or in front of K1 docks and shipping office in full view. These generate complaints from the customer misunderstanding you are on break.
*
I Understand
7. Post bid position switching to another shift is not a required function by the company. Site leadership will determine what best serves our customer and driver needs on whether to move personnel around or not.
*
I Understand
8. In occassions leadership sees an opportunity to move personnel around, we will always have a group of employees who we are aware need to switch positions and when positions open we always look at this group if we do not at that time know of any others wishing to move to that position. Exceptions are when known incredibly popular positions open (Shift A or 0600-0900 positions). These will instead be offered to every employee by order of seniority whether they want the position or not.
*
I Understand
9. We will not entertain a employees request to switch again and again. In most cases we will switch you only once after bid unless it benefits others and customer needs.
*
I Understand
10. Post bid position switching four or more months after last bid are mostly non-existent by that point and generally replaced with a new hire.
*
I Understand
11. All Hourly Dedicated drivers and Mileage drivers are required to allow at most three hours at Kamtek after scheduled shift start to wait on Kamtek to finish your load and if dispatch is unable to have anyone else perform the run.

All drivers are required to swap back to their assigned truck once their truck is back on site if they are still on site.
No drivers are allowed to sit and wait on their assigned truck if it is still in use. Dispatch will put you in another truck in the interim.
Drivers are not to tell other drivers to get out of their trucks. Inform dispatch if someone took your truck and they will handle it if needed.
There may be times due to equipment shortages in which dispatch will need to move you to another truck during your shift. Drivers are expected to follow instructions dispatch tells them to do without complaint.

NEW RULES AS OF 7/1/2023
Please read all items as some are new rules we are implementing.
1. Tablets will be kept inside the switcher trucks locked in their tablet holder brackets at all times (except the Sterilite red/yellow truck). Removing a tablet from a switcher truck will result in immediate discipline.
*
I Understand
2. This leaves only 3 tablets to be used by Switchers on their flex days, NRT drivers or Flex drivers (in that order). Dedicated hourly drivers must use their phones. These must be checked in and out and not go with you on a OTR run or to K4 at end of day.
*
I Understand
3. Flex drivers will be held to a much higher standard while working on the yard due to recent pay alignment closer to switcher wages. You must continually perform moves and not skip any due to being in a daycab. This will be strictly enforced.
*
I Understand
4. Any driver caught trying to trick YMS to pad moves, extend break times or hide from dispatchers will be disciplined. The new YMS version has more options than before to make communicating to and from your dispatcher and duty status's much easier, but it does open possibility of abuse which will be strictly not tolerated.
