To provide context, please state how YOU are connected to foster care/adoption in each response. For example, "As a birth parent, I feel that..." "It has been my experience when I was in foster care..." Thanks so much for your time and for sharing your truth. 🙏
How important is it for foster youth and adoptees to have accurate and age-appropriate knowledge of their own history?
1 is NOT important, 5 is VERY important
WHY do you think having photos, medical and social history is necessary for fostered and adopted people?
In your experience, is life history currently prioritized for youth in out of home care?
FFY/Adoptees: Do you have unanswered questions from your time in care (or pre-placement)? What would it mean to you to have answers?
FFY/Adoptees: Do you have photos of yourself and first family? What would it mean to you to have some?
Birth/First Families: Do your children understand why they aren't with you and know some good things about you? What would it mean if they could?
Families: Do your children have questions about their past that you can’t answer? What would it mean to them and to you to have answers?
I want people to know my story. Here is some of it.
Can I quote you on that?
Yes, with my name
Yes, but without my name
